Olympic lifting is often left neglected by people in their workout plans. It is typically seen within the workout programs of athletes at any level and in the strength competitions of the Olympics. While Olympic lifts are not completely necessary in building a balanced body, its benefits cannot be ignored.

These exercises work a variety of muscles in combination with each other. Unlike machines in the gym, it simulates real life stresses that the body will endure. Combined with this, these exercises also strengthen the core, thus preventing back strain and improving speed and explosiveness by developing the fast twitch muscle response.
